Exploratory Tracks

Wayne State urges students to declare a major as soon as possible, as this is the best way to graduate in four years. For those who are not ready to make that choice upon admission, we offer exploratory tracks designed to help students find the right major.

Each track provides advising support and opportunities to explore majors within broadly defined academic areas. Students will satisfy general education requirements common to all majors while taking focused courses in the area of their choosing. Each track is limited to 45 credit hours or less, after which students must declare a major. Students may switch to another track at any time, but should meet with an advisor before doing so.
