How to apply
Ready to apply? Follow these instructions to submit your application to Wayne State.
Application checklist for incoming freshmen
- Complete the appropriate undergraduate application online or download a PDF version to mail.
- Submit the appropriate non-refundable application fee by check or money order ($30 for domestic students and $50 for international students). We don't accept cash. If applying online, you can pay the application fee using Discover, MasterCard, Visa or American Express only.
- Current high school students need to give their signature page (if applying online) or completed paper application to their guidance counselor to complete.
- Ask your high school to mail an official copy of your transcript to our office.
- Expect to hear from us four to six weeks after submitting your application materials regarding any missing items and/or your admission status.
If you are applying to a major in music or dance, you also must schedule an audition with the department.
As you complete your application, do your best to select a prospective major. You won't actually declare your major at Wayne State until your second year.

Domestic students:
Aug. 1 - fall semester (Sept. - Dec.)
Dec. 1 - winter semester (Jan. - April)
May 1 - spring/summer semesters (May - Aug.)
International students:
May 1 - fall semester (Sept. - Dec.)
Sept. 1 - winter semester (Jan. - April)
Jan. 2 - spring/summer semesters (May - Aug.)
