Transfer student admission requirements

If you’ve attended a college or university, then you’re considered a transfer student. This means you need to have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) in order to be admitted to a general degree program. You also must meet Wayne State's English proficiency requirement as part of your admission to the university. Review the international student application for more detailed information.

If you are planning to transfer to one of our professional programs (such as nursing, social work or pharmacy and health sciences) you must meet additional admission requirements.

Are you transferring with less than one year of college coursework? We’ll most likely need to review your high school information as well. Make sure you request your high school transcript, mark sheet or certificate and have it sent to our office.
