Transfer credit evaluation
Our students transfer credits from other institutions often. That’s why we have a staff of folks waiting to evaluate your credits. While we will accept an unlimited number of transfer credits from four-year colleges, we will only apply a maximum of 90 semester credits toward your Wayne State degree. We also accept credits from two-year colleges and will apply up to 64 semester credits toward your Wayne State degree. Some academic programs have further restrictions so contact them individually if you have any questions.
Two to three weeks after you have been admitted, your official transfer credit evaluation will be complete. It can take more time if you have out-of-state or international transcripts. You can view your evaluation on Pipeline under the “student” tab through STARS. View transfer plans.
Transfer students from Michigan Community Colleges who have the Michigan Associate of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) certification on their transcript, or who hold an Associate of Arts (A.A), Associate of Liberal Arts (A.L.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Baccalaureate Studies (A.B.S.), will have their University General Education Requirements considered satisfied.
Note: Students must satisfy the university's mathematical competency (MC) general education requirement by completing college algebra (or higher) with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Read more about the MACRAO agreement.
We have an entire database of transferable credits at your fingertips. Take a look at the equivalency tables to unofficially determine your transferable credits.
