Transferring to Wayne State is easy! You can be admitted to Wayne State as a transfer student if you have at least 24 transferable credits of previous college work and a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade-point average from all higher education institutions you've attended. Students who have completed an Associate Degree may be admitted with a grade point average of a 2.0 or better.
You might be thinking "What if I have a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average from college but don't have 24 transferable credits?" Your official final high school transcript, ACT scores or GED scores will also be reviewed to determine your admission. Transfer students with fewer than 24 transferable credits of previous college work must also meet the freshman admission requirements.
If you will apply to a professional program at Wayne State (like nursing, social work or pharmacy and health sciences), contact these programs individually for their additional admission requirements. If you are an applicant to the OCC ADN to BSN program, you only need to submit the transfer admission application and additional documentation as outlined on your appstatus page.
Students with international academic credentials
Do you have academic credentials from outside of the U.S. (i.e. have you taken any classes in another country)? Make sure you review our English proficiency requirements. You'll have to meet these requirements as well as transfer admission requirements to be a Wayne State student.
