Admission requirements

Transferring to Wayne State is easy! You can be admitted to Wayne State as a transfer student if you have at least 12 transferable credits of previous college work and a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade-point average from all higher education institutions you've attended.

You might be thinking "What if I have a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average from college but don't have 12 transferable credits?" Well, our admission counselors will review your official final high school transcript or GED scores to see if you are admissible. You would also have to meet our freshman admission requirements in this case.

If you will apply to a professional program at Wayne State (like nursing, social work or pharmacy and health sciences), contact these programs individually for their additional admission requirements.

Students with international academic credentials

Do you have academic credentials from outside of the U.S. (i.e. have you taken any classes in another country)? Make sure you review our English proficiency requirements. You'll have to meet these requirements as well as transfer admission requirements to be a Wayne State student.
