Early Admission Program for Wayne County Community College District Students

How do I apply?
As a WCCCD student, you may sign up to participate in WayneDirect at any time during your enrollment at Wayne County Community College District. To participate, you simply apply for WayneDirect Admission to Wayne State University. The WayneDirect application is the only application you will need to complete to ultimately enroll at Wayne State. Detailed instructions and admission requirements are listed on the application. Download the WCCCD WayneDirect application. Applications are available at the counseling office at Wayne County Community College District or at the Wayne State University Welcome Center at 42 W. Warren Avenue.

Please note: Participation in WayneDirect does not ensure admission to professional programs or other degree programs with special admission criteria. Professional programs, including Nursing, Social Work, Education, and Pharmacy and Health Sciences require additional application documents and performance measures.

WayneDirect Bridge Sessions.

Familiarize WayneDirect students with the WSU campus by providing direct contact with advisors, faculty and staff. During these special sessions, students will receive the information they need to make their transition to WSU as smooth as possible, including career and internship information and tours of the WSU campus. These special sessions are scheduled throughout the academic year. .

Transfer Plans.
WayneDirect students will have access to regularly updated transfer plans, articulated by major, in order to assure a smooth transition from WCCCD to WSU. For more information on the transfer plans that are available, visit www.transfercredit.wayne.edu and click “Transfer Plans”.

Library privileges at WSU.

Wayne State will make the resources of the WSU Libraries available to WayneDirect students to conduct research, prepare term papers or address other library needs while attending Wayne County Community College District.

WSU OneCard.
As a WayneDirect participant you will be provided a special WSU OneCard, a multi-purpose identification and debit card. The card can be used for parking, library services, copying and printing services, as well as food and bookstore purchases at Wayne State University and its neighboring partners.

Opportunity to participate in the WSU Honors program.
Academically talented students may become actively involved in many of the Honors activities as they relate to community, service, research, and career, which are four of the pillars that define the undergraduate experience for members of the Honors program. Competitive scholarships will also be available for Wayne County Community College District Honors students.

Invitation to special events on WSU campus.
WayneDirect students have access to theatre and sporting events, lectures and numerous other activities for students.
